Our Jack Russell History

We bought our first Jack Russell Terrier in 1978.

It all began because my father, Bert Donehue, was a keen fox hunter and we were having trouble with foxes killing our lambs.

Our first bitch Trixie was purchased from Noel Wettenhall, "Koonda" Kennels - the sire was the famous Bim (imported from England). A dog was purchased from Max Powers (sire Roycrofts Bill) this was our first hunting pair and the basis of "Haven Park" Kennels.

Later we purchased "Koonda" Sally and "Koonda" Scruffy. Our hunting and breeding lines grow from this. We will go back to these bloodlines today. In recent years we have not had the time to go hunting.

I enjoy catching up with J.R. friends and comparing dogs at Jack Russell Terrier club events.
